Spring Boot 2.7 has run out of free support as of November 24, 2023. This affects all CoreMedia versions before CoreMedia Content Cloud 12. In the following, you will get answers to most of the important questions regarding Spring Boot 3.2 support for CoreMedia Content Cloud 11.

What is the status of Spring Boot support for CoreMedia 11?

As of November 24, 2023, free update support for Spring Boot 2.7 from VMWare in the open source version has ended. The impact of breaking changes when updating to Spring Boot 3.x on our product is so significant, that we cannot release it within a minor update for previous versions like CMCC v11. Our customers can continue utilizing CMCC v11 with Spring Boot 2.7, although it’s important to note that they will no longer receive complimentary security updates from VMWare.

CoreMedia is updating to the latest version Spring Boot 3.2 with the upcoming major release, CMCC 12, scheduled for January, 2024.
Question How can I get Spring Boot support for CMCC 11?
Answer
VMWare provides commercial support for Spring Boot 2.7 until August 2025. Please reach out to VMWare for that. CoreMedia cannot provide an OEM option for extended support by VMWare for SpringBoot 2.7 for our customers . For Spring Boot 2.7 support for CMCC 11, customers are advised to directly order commercial support from VMWare.
