Creating Custom Attributes

Create custom attributes to collect additional information on your leads. Custom attributes are available across analytics and APIs.

Prerequisites

TIP: Open the CCAS while following this how-to guide.

Steps

1. Open the Leads app

  1. In the bottom left corner of the CCAS desktop, click the icon App icon-app

  2. Scroll down until you see section Management.

  3. Select Leads to open the Leads app.

2. Create a custom attribute

  1. Select the Custom attributes tab.

  2. Click New attribute in the bottom right corner of the Leads app window.

  3. Enter the new attribute information in the New attribute window:

    • CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE NAME: Enter a name for the custom attribute. The name cannot contain spaces or special characters. For example, formname.

    • TITLE: Enter the UI name of the attribute. For example, Form Name. The TITLE is the name that appears in windows and panels.

    • FIELD TYPE: Select the field type. For example, String.

  4. Click Save in the bottom right corner of the New attribute window.

Result

After clicking Save, the new custom attribute appears in the custom attribute list. You can now activate the attribute and start using it.

Custom attributes are visible in panels and can be added to listing and metrics panels. They are also returned and writable through the Lead API.

NOTE: Custom attributes are limited to 9 custom fields. You need to use the API to update custom attribute values on existing leads.
