Release Notes / Version 11.2210
Table Of ContentsRich Text Editing in CoreMedia Studio now defaults to CKEditor 5.
CKEditor 4 support in CoreMedia Studio is deprecated just as CKEditor 4 reaches end-of-life in 2023.
As switching from CKEditor 4 to CKEditor 5 may trigger considerable efforts (due to custom plugins, for example), CKEditor 4 is still supported and maintained for CMCC 2210. A documentation exists how to enable CKEditor 4 within the new Blueprint, which ships with CKEditor 5 by default.
The Studio Developer Manual got a new section "Rich Text Editing" that not only explains CKEditor 5 integration and its rich configuration options exposed in CoreMedia Blueprint, it also contains descriptions dedicated to CKEditor 4:
How to enable CKEditor 4?
How to customize CKEditor 4? (migrated from original places in Studio Developer Manual)
Recommended Upgrade Development Setup for migrating to CKEditor 5.
And how to enable CKEditor 5 again during development or to enable it for production use.
