Enhanced Multi-Site Manual Section "Designing Locales"

Knowing, that designing locales (and, thus, corresponding language tags) for your multi-site experience may sometimes get challenging, we enhanced the section “Designing Locales” within the Multi-Site Manual:

  • For clarity, the reference to Locale.Builder got merged with the section “Defining Valid Language Tags”.
The Locale.Builder is meant as a possible assistive tool, to create a custom locale, that as well matches your needs (like a good display name in CoreMedia Studio) as well as being valid.

  • A new subsection “Example: The Global Site Locale” got added, that matches typical solutions for multi-site hierarchies having a so-called “abstract master site”. Given that you want to have a nicely distinguishable name for that site, the section describes two viable solutions for customized locales.

We also added a reference to a possible viable alternative to custom locales, which is using the “World” region 001 (zero-zero-one), such as in language tag en-001 represented by your JDK as “English (world)”.
