The CoreMedia Content Cloud example website offers functionality such as site search, login, password reset and
many more. You can place these functions in several locations of your Page
document, but the most natural locations are the headers and footers of a page as shown in
Figure 2.12, “Action items in a page”. To place these function blocks, CoreMedia Content Cloud contains the content types Action and Placeholder. As the
name suggests, these content items do not contain functional content such as HTML or JavaScript
but are only placeholders, that are replaced with the actual content when a website is sent to a
user.
The system contains predefined content items for common use cases, such as search or registration. The actual available items depend on your CoreMedia installation.
